As part of its campaign for the Volkswagen Rabbit, Crispin Porter + Bogusky created an ad for the back cover of Playboy Magazine that features the magazine's typeface in backwards type, along with three Playboy models, also in posterior view, one of whom is tattooed with the VW Rabbit icon. A targeted Labor Day mailer designed for Grand Home Furnishings increased sales from customers contacted with mail and voice marketing a whopping 39%. A New York paralegal sued the Seattle-based coffee chain Friday, accusing it of deceptive advertising. Last month, Starbucks e-mailed a coupon for a free iced beverage to some employees and encouraged them to forward it to friends and family.

While magazines geared toward women audiences are chock full of images of scantily clad female models, a study out of the University of Florida in Gainesville shows that college-age women registered a lack of interest in ads featuring seductively posed models. Instead, young women stated a preference for models with a more wholesome look.
